Doofus does Seti@Home

SETI@Home logo

The Linux server (Doofus) here on hrpr.com's intranet has been contributing spare CPU cycles to the SETI@Home Project since March 2003.  Since then Doofus has been faithfully processing signal analysis tasks 24 x 7.  Who knows, maybe one of these days one of our servers will be assigned a task that decodes to "ET Phone Home."

In July 2009, another Linux server (Piggy) joined Doofus in contributing spare CPU cycles to the project.

In October 2011, Piggy retired due to health problems after 10 years of service.  Roadie, a Linux laptop doing double duty as a server here at hrpr.com and a client when on the road, is now contributing spare CPU cycles to the project.

In March 2012, Piggy II was added to the hunt.  Piggy II is powered by an AMD Althlon(tm) 64x2 Dual Core Processor and a Gigabyte of RAM.

Doofus, Roadie, Piggy, and Piggy II have contributed a total of over 350,000 BOINC Cobblestones as of 03 March 2013.
