This month marks the beginning of the 13th year for Ross and Owen's Pictures of the Month.  We wish all a happy and prosperous 2011 and are looking forward to another year of sharing our monthly news and pictures with you.

We took a one day trip to Ski Liberty this month.  And we celebrated Granny 's Birthday at her house.  We all sang Happy Birthday and had Ice Cream Cake.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

rossowen101202

Earlier this month, we attended the opening of the Cooley Gallery in Leesburg's Historic Downtown

ross101201We all went to Ross’s recital this month.  He’s becoming a real Guitar Man

We had a semi-White Christmas this year.  There were a few flurries on Christmas Eve and it was cold enough to leave a light dusting on the ground.  Quite a difference from last year.  We spent Christmas day at Granny’s house.  Pop-Pop made a short video with Granny’s new VideoCam.  Here it is for your viewing pleasure.  Make sure you watch the whole thing!

Happy 17th Anniversary to Mom and Dad!

Happy Thanksgiving!

freeze your gizzardWe both ran in the  Freeze Your Gizzard 5K this month.  See if you can find us in the list of participants.

Granny, Pop-Pop, Grandpap Olaf, and a friend of Mom's spent Thanksgiving Day with us.  Cappy had lots of company too.  The Grand-dogs Gunston and Piggy were there along with Cappy's friend Buttons.

We had a "Vegetarian" Thanksgiving Dinner this year as it was getting late in the day, everybody was getting hungry and the turkey was still cooking.

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to visit our cousins in Charlottesville, VA

Happy Birthday Mom!

It could be worse...my brother got turned into pie filling! October is Mom's favorite month.  She really likes this time of year and always decorates the house and yard with stuff that has an "Autumnal" theme, which of course includes lots of Halloween decorations.

Bubble, Bubble!

Round about the caldron go; In the poison'd entrails throw. Toad, that under cold stone, Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter'd venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i' the charmed pot! -- First Witch, "Macbeth," IV:1

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. -- Witches, "Macbeth," IV:1

Fillet of a fenny snake, in the cauldron boil and bake: eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog, adder's fork and blind-worm's sting, lizard's leg and howler's wing, for a charm of pow'rful trouble, like a hell-broth boil and bubble. -- Second Witch, “Macbeth,” IV:1

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. -- Witches, "Macbeth," IV:1

Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf; Witches' mummy; maw and gulf Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark; Root of emlock digg'd i' the dark; Liver of blaspheming Jew; Gall of goat, and slips of yew Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse; Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips; Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-deliver'd by a drab, Make the gruel thick and slab: Add thereto a tiger's chaudron, For the ingrediants of our caldron. -- Third Witch, "Macbeth," IV:1

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. -- Witches, "Macbeth," IV:1

Cool it with a baboon's blood, Then the charm is firm and good. -- Second Witch, "Macbeth," IV:1

We all got together at Granny’s house to celebrate Mom’s Birthday.

Granny's dog Gunston developed a rash on his back due to an allergy to antibiotics he was taking to heal a sore on his leg.  He went to the vet and got his back shaved so the rash would heal faster.  He has since recovered and is doing fine while waiting anxiously for his hair to grow back to normal.

Other than that, not much new this month.

Last month, on the way back from Deep Creek, our van got hit by a deer near Hagerstown, MD.  There was some body damage to the van but nothing mechanical so we made it the rest of the way home with no problems.

Get the candy ready!  We can't wait to go Trick or Treating.  That is, all of us except Ross.  He has declared that he is too grown up now to participate in such childish activities.

World Trade Center, Pentagon, Shanksville...This month's page is dedicated to the victims and the heroes of September 11, 2001.

deep-creek-2010-09 (50) The books are closed on one more Summer.  The pool is closed, we went back to school the Tuesday after Labor Day and yet one more time we have to get used to getting up early, homework, going to bed early, and that other stuff that happens once Summer vacation is over.

3rdcousins100901We had a nice visit with our third cousins from Norway, who are here in the United States for a while.

deep-creek-2010-09 (69) And we did have one last bit of fun this month.  We spent a weekend at Deep Creek Lake during Pop-Pop’s annual reunion with his brothers and their families.

Happy Birthday to Uncle Brian and a belated Happy Birthday to Uncle Barry!
