Since Friday, 10 April is associated with two major religious hollidays (Good Friday and Passover) the decision was made not to sell beer at Fenway Park on opening day...but all the neighboring bars are expecting to do record business! |

A Tale of Two Cities
On 31 August 1998, I managed to spend some time in two cities named Cambridge. The names are the same but that's about all they have in common. Cambridge, MD is a small city on the Chesapeake Bay "Eastern Shore" along Route 50 on the way to Ocean City, MD. Cambridge, MA, is across the Charles River from Boston and is the home of Harvard and MIT.

The "Green Monster"
On 1 September 1998, the Boston Red Sox hosted the Seattle Mariners at Fenway Park. The highlight of the game was when a young pitcher that the Red Sox had just called up from their Pawtucket, RI farm team managed to hit future Hall of Famer Junior Griffey with his first pitch. Guess that's something he can tell his grandchildren someday!
